ACCRETIED EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST

Stephanie Goode

My name is Steph and I am an accredited exercise physiologist who has completed both a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science and a Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology at Southern Cross University in Lismore.

I come from a large family that is made up of mostly women and I have seen many of these women go through health concerns without knowing how to access support from the allied health sector or aware of what support is available to them.

During my time at university and beyond, I continued to noticed a large gap in education and in the workplace focussing on Women’s Health. I have since directed almost all of my professional development into that space, with aspirations to be able to bridge the gap between allied health and women’s health. I am qualified in Clinical Pilates and see this as a priority area for rehabilitation and exercise for females.

Seeing how extraordinary the changes are in our bodies as women, particularly pre- and post-natal, and how well our bodies adapt during these times has inspired me to increase my knowledge and skills to this area in order to assist females to prepare, maintain and repair their bodies at this special time in their lives.

ACCREDITED EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST

Leah Jenkins

Leah is an accredited Exercise Physiologist with a Bachelor's degree from the Queensland university of Technology.

Her passion for Women's Health began during her travels in London, where she worked with a Women's Health physiotherapist who had a passion for pre- and post-natal pilates. This experience allowed her to meet a lot of interesting women, truly learning about the beauties of female anatomy and the importance of exercise treatment throughout a woman's life.

Throughout Leah’s studies she took particular interest in women's health anatomy and conditions. She noticed first hand the limited knowledge there is about women's health within the population and industry. Leah’s goal is to provide education and increase knowledge around the importance of looking after our health as women especially during times of major change from adolescents to pregnancy and menopause. She thoroughly enjoys reformer Pilates and finds it a wonderful form of exercise to teach and participate in.

It is Leah’s priority to continue to develop her knowledge in the women's health space and to make physical health and wellbeing a priority in a woman's life.

PILATES INSTRUCTOR, ALLIED HEALTH ASSISTANT, ACCREDITED EXERCISE SCIENTIST

Helena Doran

Helena is an Accredited Exercise Scientist who has completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science, and Level 1-3 in Clinical Pilates.

Helena was first exposed to Pilates during her many years of classical ballet training. She began to understand how this form of exercise can have significant benefits for improving movements patterns, strength and flexibility and therefore preventing and rehabilitating injuries while also improving performance.

She uses Pilates based movements religiously when working with athletes. It allows them to slow down and be very critical of movement errors and mechanics that would often be overlooked in their normal higher intensity training sessions. Helena also believes that Pilates is a great way for the general population to maintain their overall health, and to release stress and reduce those aches and pains that come from everyday life.

PILATES INSTRUCTOR

Perrie Nicholls

Through her own practice of Pilates, Perrie fell in love with movement and mind/body connection.

After the birth of her first daughter, she decided to leave the corporate world and embark on her Pilates adventure. The studio she trained at mentored her through her studies with Breathe Education throughout the Covid lockdown periods. She then finished her studies and became a qualified instructor at that same studio until her family relocated to Brisbane in September 2022. In that time they have welcomed a new addition to the family and she's now ready and excited to return to the Pilates world!
